My final piece of work with both the Front Page and Double Page Spread meets the Client Brief well specified within the brief that it would be a brand new music magazine about music in the Hertfordshire area this magazine had to have both print and online formats because of this i made sure my product is 360 dpi so its high enough quality to be printed and it will be 72 dpi on the online version so it runs quickly and smoothly. overall my product is suitable to the brief and fits my target audience well.
in the client brief the client didn't specific the genre or target audience in mind because of this I decided to make the genre of my magazine pop as through my research it seemed to be the most popular genre in Hertfordshire currently. they also didn't specify what the target audience is so i chose 18-24 year olds as there the most likely to buy a music magazine as they probably have jobs with money to spend on things they enjoy. because of this i based my magazine on what they would like
The colour scheme I went for in the end was a very bright this is because it will easily appeal to my target audience which is young adults as they like brighter colours more. it also fits the pop genre well as during my research i realised A lot of pop album covers and magazines use a bright colour scheme with lots of blues and pinks. it also allows me to stand out from my competition BBC music as they use much more dull colours such as white, black and grey for there front cover making mine stand out more in shops and look more appealing to my target audience
I named my magazine Non stop pop as it has alliteration in the name this will make it more catchy and more likely for people to remember it, It also gives the consumers information on what exactly is in the magazine as they can see its about pop in the title so everyone who likes this type of music will be attracted to it.
My Target Audience consisted of younger people in the local area from late teens to young adults. 18-24 i chose this age range as it meant people who get to the uni of Hertfordshire would easily fit into my target audience so I could give them some magazines to sell and uni is about partying and the experience and Hertfordshire night life is not well known and in my magazine it will tell you where to go to listen to music. because of this I think the magazine would sell well
in conclusion my magazine fits perfectly within the client brief and I believe it would be successful when launched and appeal well to my target audience.
post production techniques.
i used the clipping tool to remove the background from my image this is because it was taking inform of an elevator and the background would not have been suitable for my magazine so i removed it to ensure my magazine would look professional and fit the modern style. It \also meant the vibrant pink background was still visible .

i used the colour picker and type tool to be able to create a vibrant colour scheme on InDesign i used it to change the colour of my text to white this made the text pop more out of the page compared to when it was black this gave it the more modern aesthetic as well. this is beneficial for when the magazine is in shops in will easily stand out and be able to easily read from further distance.
I used the ellipse tool when i created my puff this is because it allowed me to create a perfect circle with a plain white background causing it to contrast my pink background, This will grab peoples attention as they walk past this is beneficial as people will quickly notice my puff saying "WIN" this will draw more protentional customers closer to my magazine.
double page spread
I used the Columns tool on InDesign so that my Body Copy could be separated into clear and neat columns. This created a more modern look and makes my magazine layout easy to understand and read it also looks more professional and meets the codes and conventions as all the text is the same width and same distance apart from each other. i split it into three coloms so threes not lots of text all over the place making it look more modern and my target audience would prefer this.
i used the the select item tool on photoshop to remove the background from the picture from sam this made my double page spread look more professional a its all the same shade of white and looks very modern this was important as it could get me repeat customers because of the professional look
i also used the text wrap tool so the text would wrap around my slug line so it would stand out more so when a customer reads it they can see exactly what is going to be talked about in the body copy. it also makes it look more professional as its not just placed in a random space. i also used this feature to wrap around the Spotify scan code so there's no overlap
the final features i used on my double page spread was the rectangle tool again i used it to put a black box under my pull quote so it stands out to the rest of my double page spread which is all white I also used this feature along with the type tool to add page numbers in the bottom of my magazine so it follows all the codes and conventions.
