we had the opportunity to work with the lead artist in a local Hertfordshire band called the Hertfordshire poppers. this brand is a prime example of why local musicians should never give up there dreams. Hertfordshire poppers was not looking promising a month ago. with listeners figures down with the hopes of the band dying. however Sam didn't give in and kept posting for the bands success and little did he know the turnout would be this great

how did he make your band become viral over night "i decided to come up with a dance to our song to post on tiktok. after a while the tiktok got millions of views as the dance became a "trend" this led to many people re-using our bands music and dancing to it. this simple action led millions of people to hear our bands music and share it to there friends and many people started to stream it on Spotify

did your band ever almost quit? "technically no but we have all experienced lack of hope and we have all thought about giving up but quitting was probably never going to happen as music was not only our passion it was our dreams so even if we didn't go viral we would have carried on as its something we all enjoy"

how did you start your band "everyone in the band met through school and we are a good group of mates who all enjoy the same passion of music and one day we all just decided to give it a go..

I felt the quality of this photo was fair but I felt the mood of Sam was not what I was looking for in my magazine - so the camera work I felt was good but the model pose was not the mood I wanted to use for my magazine.

I I took this picture however i don't think it was suitbale because of the lighting was causing a big shadow behind Sam however sam's mood is good for the image

i used this image for my front cover as Sam's face and body positions really gives a happy mood which is suitable for story or what happened to his band. the lighting is also really good with almost no shadows so little editing was needed .

I used this image on my Double Page Spread. The lighting of it was again good due to the location having a bright shade of white making the model look very clear and have a good colour to it. The camera angle was slightly off and caused issues at a later stage in production stage when I had to cut out the background. however the background was only white so there would not be any issues as my double page spread is also white. sam's face was also suitable as he looks serious and happy at the same time which fits the purpose 

this images was really not suitable for my magazine as the quality was really bad because of this i decided not to use this image. the pose also was not suitable for my magazine topic

codes and conventions 

The magazine needed to be  Modern. my magazine fits this as the bright pink colour of my magazine will make my magazine stand out from my competition uses very dull colours for example this is seen with the bbc music magazine as they have very plain colours such as black, white and grey this gives my magazine a more modern look to my competition. this will also make my magazine appeal more to my target audience as younger people are more appealed by bright colours.

my front cover also includes a masthead, barcode, date line , selling line and cover lines this fits all the codes and conventions or a magazine this will make my magazine look very professional as you wouldn't be able to notice any distinct differences. my double page spread also fits the codes and conventions as it contains page numbers, slug lines and pull quotes it also includes a body copy in an interview style with an artist who's featuring in my magazine this gives it a more professional look and feel. My magazine also includes the artist Spotify scan code on my double page spread this is not a typical piece used in a magazine and will make mine look more modern and stand out from the competition,

My magazine will also include Cover Lines on the Front Cover in order to provide more information on the articles for the audience to read in the magazine this would interest the customers and they could end up buying the magazine another code and convention that my magazine meets is the use of a barcode in order to allow the magazine to be sold in shops. during my research i realised most barcodes are in the bottom corners because of this im doing the same in order for my magazine to fit the codes and conventions

another

in most double page spreads there's a large image. i decided to do that so the page grabs the readers attention. i also noticed that most magazines include a drop cap I also did this so the reader can easily see where the to start reading from. and it immediately draws there attention. there's also a pull quote on most magazines double page spread because of this i included one on my product so it fits all codes and conventions

i also used a puff on my magzine as its another convention typically used on the front cover. on my puff it has win written on it as it will promote the giveaway happening inside. the win is also written in gold this will attract attention as a lot of people might buy my magazine for a chance to win
